Jessica Aldrich earned her B.S. and M.S. in Biomedical Engineering from Wichita State University in 2018 and 2019, respectively. She earned her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering in 2024 from the University of Florida. After completing her Ph.D., Dr. Aldrich was a Wu Tsai Human Performance Alliance Postdoc at the Phil and Penny Knight Campus for Accelerating Scientific Impact at the University of Oregon. Her research has focused on the development of nano materials to treat and slow the progression of osteoarthritis, developing a bone organoid as a model of bone injury and as a treatment for traumatic bone injuries, and evaluating sex-related differences in musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. At Cal Poly, Dr. Aldrich’s research will sit at the intersection of biomaterials and organoids for musculoskeletal research. Outside of the lab, she is an avid endurance athlete and enjoys running and cycling.
